They rank 86th nationally presently in yards per attempt (7.3) and 94th in passer rating against (139.05). But their rush defense is god awful, ranking 121st in allowing 232.0 yards per game and 101st in yards per carry (4.78). So what's the plan? My buddy said that Harbaugh is aware people are talking about the lack of passing (and as the guys here have written about) and the fact he brought it up in the press conference means he will throw it a bunch this weekend to make a point. I told him having witnessed Jim the last six years, I think he'll make a point by running it 50 times and throwing it 15, 'Like y'all aren't gonna tell me what to do."
Interestingly, Rutgers so far ranks in the top 30 as both a pass defense and a rush defense. Tough to say how legitimate that is with a schedule of Temple and Syracuse (and soon to be Delaware), but Schiano has always had a reputation for defense so they could be a good test in a week
