I have looked at this from a number of angles trying to make sense of why there has been no announcement of Harbaugh returning yet. There is absolutely no benefit to staying silent. Business doesn't stop because of COVID so I don't buy that excuse. Even if you didn't want to make that announcement in April/May, you had a delayed season in which to get it done. Now the season is effectively over and it sounds like all they need are signatures on a sheet.
We are hearing from the mods now that Harbaugh is going to return (please don't take this as a knock on the mods as they know a hell of a lot more than me), yet no announcement. In the meantime we are losing recruits, the NFL rumors continue, and speculation runs wild. This can't be about the assistants as it's Jim's contract, sign it and announce it.
