Considering the past few seasons, I agree this season was not a lost although we were poised to play for the National title.
Watching our games closely this year I noticed patterns earlier in the season that would come back to hurt us. Big games (Michigan State, Iowa, & Saturday opponent) we lost a bit of identity.
1. We did not use all 4 running backs ( very successful keeping D-fenses off balance). Where was Ty Isaac in the Michigh St , Iowa and Saturday's gameèknow we have been effective all season so why change.
2. Same as b4/ offensive play calling in big games were weak and 2 conservative. 2nd O.T. we settled to get 3 from the 1st snap with no itention to make it hard. Love the coaching staff, but OC is questionable.
3. Wilton Speight played well but has shown all season he forces his throws and many times throws them short. It was not the receivers fault on the dropped passes. His fumbleft on the goal line did cost at minimum 3 points which could have prevented OT
4. Kalis - Yes, horrible performance. Key plays made by opponent yesterday was because of his nissed assignment or lack of understanding of the defensive sets. D Smith missed a block but played hard.
5. Officiating that last reason to blame our loss was tilted in favor of home team. Big games don't call the petty stuff (unsportsmanlike on HC) are you for real
- Pass interference when ball is not catchable, PI not called several times on opponent,
Would love Lane Kiffin as OC, will be awesome with type defense we have.
We still have a good shot to secure 1/4 spots. Washington and Clemson Can Both loose
