I don’t think we should overlook how young and inexperienced this team is. I don’t know if anyone else was shocked to see some of the guys out there. A combination of injuries and early departures forced to throw a lot of guys out there who just aren’t ready.

Here are a few places I noticed it’s impact.
  • Milton is ready, but it’s still only his second start. And while I like our receivers, we really missed a receiver like Nico who could help out a young QB with a deep ball or throw that wasn’t perfect.
  • The corners. We really miss having Ambry.
  • I hear the hype on All but he looks lost out there.
  • The drop off from McGrone is huge. Nobody has his speed. And we missed it badly on delayed blitzes today after he went out
The OL has a lot of new guys and it showed today. It wasn’t just push, it was missed assignments too

Now MSU had a lot of young guys too. And their guys stepped up. So credit to them. And shame on us for not being able to get our guys in a position to have success. But my biggest takeaway from today is we looked like a bunch of inexperienced guys making just enough mistakes to not execute, because that is what we are.
