Do people really hate night games that much? I'm really surprised at all the negativity around them.
I personally love them. Been to three of them and they were all amazing. The two Notre Dame comebacks were the greatest sporting experiences I've ever been to.
I couldnt make the trip this year for the MSU game (thankfully), and that seemed like about the most miserable experience you could ever endure as a Michigan fan so I get that may have people less than enthused about another one, but its pretty rare to get caught in a monsoon, would have been just as miserable at noon or 3/4 PM.
Do people really think we are going to see empty seats for a 6-2 Michigan team against Minnesota? Thats pretty sad as a fanbase if thats the case. Just to name a few, most SEC schools (LSU in particular), and several Big Ten schools (OSU, Penn State, Wisconsin, hell even Iowa), all have phenomenal support for these night games (fans color coordinated, fired up, and properly lubricated) almost regardless of opponent. Its basically just a big party. So whats with all the negative-nancy attitude from Michigan fans?
The logistics are challenging, so I get that part of it, but playing at night to me has always been something that brings out the most raucous environment and can be a true differentiator for the home team.
