I believe Aubrey Dawkins has the potential to be a really good player. In many ways, his first year reminds me so much of Nik Stauskas'. He came in unheralded, and is similar in size, 3 point shooting accuracy, below average defending, and mostly one-dimensional offensively. Belein has stated Dawkins needs to work on his assists, which was also true of Nik his first year. Nik worked his butt off that next summer, and his game improved in so many ways. His defense improved, as did his passing, and his ability to get to the basket on fakes, feints, and drives became a huge asset. If Aubrey is willing to work like Nik did off-season I see him as having the potential to become an excellent, well-rounded player.
