new rules, new hoop scheme? Was 30 second shot clock noticeable in the NIT?

how about the 4 foot arc under the hoop for charges?

Buried in a different thread, bluevod mentioned a new "scheme" potentially.

I threw it out there that with the increased length of the team, that maybe the defensive pressure or more of a trapping defense could be in the future. They certainly have the length and depth to play more aggressive.

blockm2 contributed that even if it was token-ish pressure to kill 5 seconds of the shot clock, then it would hurt offensive efficiency. He's a numbers guy, so I'll buy that.

What if the rules cut 5 seconds off the shot clock (if the info supports it based on the NIT experiment), AND UM decides to bring a full court presence on defense for parts of games. Instead of essentially crossing half court stress free at about 32 on the shot clock, you are now just getting into your offense at 25.

just random thoughts, but maybe worth further discussion whether it's UM doing it or some other team.
