Lost in all the football news yesterday, the NCAA announced specific dates for seasons and tournaments for the Fall sports that are moving to the spring. Soccer and Field Hockey both have regular seasons of February to early April. Cross Country is even worse, with their championship scheduled for Mar. 15th. How in the world are Big Ten teams supposed to make that work? All of these sports being played outside in February in states like Michigan, Minnesota or Wisconsin is nuts. I hope for the athletes sake that the Big Ten doesn't just cancel those seasons altogether, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.
