-Victor Wembanyana--
As u know, the most "Hyped-up" athlete in the universe is 7'5" (7'3.5" in socks) is #1 draft pick Victor Wembanyana of the Spurs (whose security reportedly slapped Brittany Spears as it was originally reported a few days aho-lol)....saw him last and although its only game 1 of the summer league, he did not match up to his immense hype as the best b-ball talent to come along since LeBron....he had 9pts on 2-13 FGs, 8 Rebs, 5 blocks, 1-6 on 3pt FGs, but was 4-4 on FTs......as we know, LeBron delivered in his 1st pro game on the court and folks said, "He's the real deal" the 1st time he stepped on the court in a pro setting......the jury is still out for Wemby after last night.....many people on the web are alreeady calling him a bust after last night's less than stellar performance...he can only improve after last nite...but his length will be a positive factor (hence the 5 blocks)....but he seemed a little slow running up and down the court and was not as athletic as I imagined (he even got dunked on once)....Chet Holmgren is skinny too, but I'd say Chet has a stronger body than Wemby....again, just game 1 and he can only go up....while he may or may not meet his hype, its way too early to call him a bust like folks are doing...
-Kobe Bufkin of ATL
Kobe started and was handling the ball as if he was the PG or the "1".....he endes with 8 pts, on 4-14 FGs, 0-8 on 3pt shots, 4 Rebs, 8 Turnovers, with 8 personal fouls.....he did some good things and again this was just game 1....My thoughts after watching are, Kobe has such a "smooth" game as we know, but it seemed as though the speed of the players at the next level was giving him problems, and "at this time" PG may not be the best position for him and maybe the #2 guard may be the better NBA position "right now" but as a hard worker, he will keep molding his game I am sure.....the speed of the NBA players giving him problems and PG not being his best position "right now" was certainly evidenced by Kobe's 8 Turnovers and 8 fouls.....as with Wemby, Kobe will get better each game..
-Jett Howard of Orlando
And the reason I am posting this article, Jett and Orlando (which means possibly Caleb Houstan) plays tonight on ESPN @ 5:30pm.....check him out/support him if you are free at 5:30pm today..
