I’ll preface this with saying I’m a HUGE Jim Harbaugh backer. BUT....
I really think we’re all just panicking a bit, being impatient as well as being downright disrespectful to Coach (some of us). I’m sure I’ll take a lot of crap for this but even though “double speak” is the norm for coaching situations I respect the hell out of Coach and I 100% believe he’s a man of his word. Once word got out that he was telling recruits AND THEIR FAMILIES (if true) that he’s coming back/the contract is done -the issue is settled as far as I’m concerned. I’ve always thought Coach was a very principled man and of high morales and to read some posts here saying he’s being an attention grabber and that this was all about him wanting people to talk about him - I just think that’s ridiculous and frankly insulting. Nothing he’s ever done (in MY opinion) would make me think he’d LIE to kids and their families and/or string them along just because he enjoyed the attention.
Also - this may not carry much weight with most of you but I too (like Coach) am a devout Catholic. To imagine him acting in a way some of us have accused him of is just beyond the realm of possibility. And frankly if any of it turns out to be true I’d personally pack his bags for him.
And lastly - I just couldn’t see Coach doing that to Michigan. He’d never be able to show his face in AA again.
