I'd like to see a return to the old system (modified) with:
Rose: Big10 Champ/Pac12 Champ
Orange: ACC Champ/At-Large or ND
Sugar: SEC Champ/At Large or ND
Fiesta: B12 Champ/At-Large or ND
All of these are played on New Year's Day
The playoff committee chooses the eligible at-large BCS bowl teams. Bowls pick from there. Any team from any bowl (not just the above 4)can be chosen for the playoff based on resume. After these are played the selection committee chooses the top 4. Playoff from there at a single site like the final four, only it is a full week celebration of college football. Extends the season for four teams by one game, and two teams by 2 games. Saves the sacred cow bowls. Everyone wins.
