We just lost to a Georgia team we couldn't beat 1 in 10 attempts . BUT..We are still about the 4th best team in the country.. Gotta love that..
Going forward....
1. We knew we would need to win a shootout eventually and we got into one without many bullets. Next years team will feature a helluva lot more skill players ready to roll.
2. YES..JJ will need to be the qb... because he is the only one of the 2 who can unlock the offense and use the huge amount of skill we have that is ready to score. Jim used him perfectly this year , but Cade won't get it done with a defense that is learning on the job and a schedule that is road heavy.
3. I absolutely love where the program is even if this is the probable high water mark for us for the next 5 years. We have quality human beings who are great players and a foundation that wreaks of all the right things in life and football. We can be proud of the team and still win big with good kids.
4. The SEC is a step above us and that is life. All the stuff about Big ten winning this and SEC winning that is dwarfed by the fact that the NC is owned and runs through the SEC. That has little chance of changing. OSU and Michigan ( sometimes) can join the party. I like our chances of being a top 10 team more now than in a long time. Next year will probably be a step back record wise but should be a foundation block for the program if we let it.
5. Jim is the right guy to lead the program....He is a different guy than he was a couple years ago and appears to have grown up a bit . We may lose coaches , as all good programs do, but we also appear to be getting a foundation of good young coaches who will provide what we need to lead the program with or without Jim.
6. Thanks guys for a great season. These kids work their asses off so we can sit back and make stupid assessments about their play. I am very proud of our kids and they win games to boot... Go Blue..
