Spartan run defense IS their defense.
Sparty absolutely sells right out to stop the run...well, what team wouldn't have great rush D stats with that all-out approach?
This has been their approach for years, and it really worked when the D had pass rushers who could get home and pressure the QB.
They also had decent corners - who were PI artists - to make the D that much tougher to play against.
This year, there is added emphasis to load the box and TRY to get to the QB because the secondary is downright bad.
Harbaugh knows this. I have no doubt he will game plan for it.
I expect MSU will deny Sanders at the start.
McSorely might not see much daylight to take off either so he'll be looking for open WRs and they will be.
Dantonio's game plan the next two weeks is no mystery. Not sure opponents need an added advantage to beat MSU but they have it, knowing exactly how their offenses will be defended.
I predict MSU goes to Happy Valley and is throttled, like 42-13. They'll take the lumps there, minimal shenanigans.
The next week, there will be some big news of some guy or guys returning from injury, as if it's all kind of a big deal. It'll be played up to try to fire up a depressed fanbase for the mid-Oct Bowl game.
The shenanigans will be numerous Oct. 20.
Hope Michigan stays disciplined.
They should win the game by 17+.
Go Blue. Always.
