I'm not smart enough to know when a defense hides it's coverages to deceive the QB, but there were a couple of plays highlighted by Herbstreit where MSU looked to be doing one thing and did another, e.g. dropping a DE into coverage, bringing down the safety on short routes to TE. So O'Korn's read would be wrong, or the pass is completed 3 yards downfield but the safety makes the tackle immediately. This was O'Korn's first start. There were probably little adjustments that MSU did to fool him. I recall Rudock's first game where he three 3 picks, including a pick 6. He had experience at Iowa and was also a 5th year guy, but it took him a few games to settle in.
