More Conference Realignment Predictions

Agree that we will end up in 4 conferences with the big 12 going away. Keeping one playoff spot per conference. Think it's around 18-20 schools in each. We don't take Kansas or Cincinnati tho. They're not big enough or add anything for us. It's got to be Texas/Oklahoma or bust at this point. If we miss Texas maybe we are ok with Oklahoma and Baylor just to get the Texas southwest market.

Let's go to 20 teams and put all the traditional Big Ten teams in one division and everybody else in the other.

Right now it doesn't feel like UM is in the same conference as Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc. anyway.

I don't think the Big 12 goes anywhere. It is more likely they expand the college football playoffs to 8. Then they take 1 team from each power 5 and 3 at large teams

Texas makes too much money with their own TV contract to leave for anywhere else. Oklahoma is a possibility. There has been talk of West Virginia with all the travel they have now. I do not think they have the academics and research that is necessary to get into the BIG. Pitt was also mentioned at one time. I always thought Missouri was a possibility with the academics and top sports teams made them a possibility. I was surprised when they went to the SEC. I do not see Iowa State or Kansas as viable members. Kansas football is so far gone that Rutgers would kick their behinds each year.
