After a shaky start, the #4 Michigan Women's Gymnastics team settled down, and cruised to a win in their NCAA Tournament opener. This means they'll play tomorrow night in the regional final (which is essentially the quarterfinals). 4 teams are competing in their region. They will need to be one of the top 2 tomorrow to advance. If they duplicate tonight's score tomorrow, it is probably about a 95% chance they will advance. Still shorthanded with 2 gymnasts out - still having others step up big time. Had 2 or 3 career highs tonight.
This team could definitely win it all if they put it all together. They won't be the favorites, but they're still legit contenders. Just need to avoid an implosion in the next couple of rounds.
