Why the continued rationalization over why U of M lost. The time is now to admit that they do not do it on the field. The weather, luck, QB issues, OL stinks, bare cupboard, and I could go on. There is a need to take a good look at where the issues are try and fix them. There is a QB issue, but the coach picked O'Korn and gave him a transfer and he is his guy. He had him for three years and he did not improve. Speight was there but he did not show improvement in three years. Peters was a U of M recruit for the coach, but he had to have a spoonfed and watered down offense after two years in the program. I have heard he has some work ethic and attitude issues that could hold him back next year. I have no idea about Mccaffrey or how he did running the scout team. The OL will lose its two best OL in LT and Center. I looked at the roster and incoming and I do not see an upgrade in either position ready to fill in. I believe Oweneau is overweight and has difficulty being effective the total game. Ruiz is an upgrade, but he may move to center and then guard is an issue. RT is not U of M quality and no upgrade in the wings. If Winovich decides to leave there will be three out of four spots needed to be filled. There is one upgrade on the roster in Solomon but nowhere else. The WR's need to get stronger because they have trouble with the bump and run and getting separation on their routes. I like the back four and Hill is all Big Ten quality. I did not see and upgrade in RB Coach and it showed in the performance of the RB's especially in pass blocking. Maybe nepotism did not work with that move. It is an uphill grind because Penn State, OSU, and Wisconsin are no going away. MSU is actual younger than the U of M roster and they seem to show improvement as the season and off season go by. U of M does not seem to do that in the areas that count. Next years has more issues than just the QB position.
