Conner Cook is no longer an issue for Michigan as is the case of many of their seniors who have had an excellent run for the Spartans. BOTH OSU and MSU are losing some really good players. People seemed to forget that Michigan's current players are what was recruited from Brady Hoke. Some were good and some were not and most of them were never really developed until this year. Hoke's recruiting in skill areas and especially at ILB really hurt Michigan and we witnessed it this year. This is where MSU and OSU have been light years ahead of Michigan and a good reason for those losses this year. Michigan will be good next year and especially with O'Korn at the helm. He has had a full year to develop. They are in desperate need at RB and you bet Harbaugh will find one next year. I could care less about stars because Green was a 5 star who has done nothing at UM. Harbaugh's biggest impact yet will be this years recruiting class which stands at #3 in the country and may surge to 1 or 2 before it is over with. Gary is likely to commit to UM as is Kareem Walker. Both could get instant playing time. Harbaugh and his staff will develop those players. While MSU and OSU will continue their standard playing abilities, Michigan will no longer begin to lag so far behind. Next year, Michigan will be really good with what is returning mixed with some youth in areas. Regardless the losses to the rivals this year, Michigan is back and has made a impact in college football. If they win their bowl then it takes them to 10 wins in Harbaugh's 1st season. The blowout to OSU (while awful) in hindsight was good for UM because it shows how far they have been behind in recruiting and the defense was poorly coached (Durkin was focused on Maryland) he had to be and it showed. With a new DC, Harbaugh will settle in now and he knows what he needs. It has been a great year for Michigan.

I think that's a pretty good assessment. Reasonable OSU and UM fans recognize Harbaugh's a great coach and reasonable UM fans acknowledge the same of Meyer and Dantonio. Future games, which will determine the BT East champion and in most year's, the Big Ten champ, should be great!

MSU certainly loses more than UM next year, but the following year, UM loses a ton. UM's weakness will be at LB, the overall depth is not quite there yet, and the running game (OL was experienced this year, still not that good, and no RB really emerged) will need to improve a lot for Harbaugh to really run the offense he wants to run. MSU's D should be better or at least as good, but the offense may take a pretty big step back.

But.... Harbaugh and staff have two years to prepare and recruit, I'm not expecting one iota of drop off in 2017, just the opposite in fact.

DETROIT JOHN LIES..
Not a a mistruth.. Just a lie..

Trenches win championships.. As we showed .. As OSU showed last year..

UM will be far better in the trenches.. In terms of big strong 4th year and 5th year linemen in 2016...than 2017...

It's a fact.. Can you handle facts. ??

yOur 2016 team will be far more talented amongst 3-5 th year players than 2017..
Cut and paste that..save it.. Because you and Pharm D cant handle the truth...
HOW ABOUT THEM SPARTANS... We own you !!!

MSU owning UM in football? Please. Nice little run but the consistent winning each year will end under Harbaugh and did this year except for ONeil dropping the ball. Good luck this playoff as you guys earned it.

Haha!! Poor junior msu fan has to come on only AFTER his team wins! Says enough about the little brother mindset.

Michigan will continue to get more and more talented. As these players get coached up, 2017 and 2018 could be some of their most talented teams in quite sometime. The timelines have been moved up after seeing how quickly Harbaugh was able to take what many though was a 6 or 7 win team and win 9 in his first year. The future is very, very bright!

And congrats to sparty for doing exactly what they were expected to do this year. No surprise there

Pharm D..
You are a little man.. You have to be tired of coming up on the short end of things for your life..
Hope things get better for your little world...
