Jimmy and Don Brown have obviously both had a lot of success w/ their schemes and I have a lot of respect for both of them, but I would like to see them game plan for the opponents more. DB HAD to know they were gonna run crossing patterns until we showed we could stop it. Now, I know he did eventually try to swItch to zone, but the problem was we never played zone against the inferior competition. The same goes for Jimmy...... based on the IU game and (Chase and Rashan being banged up), he also had to know there was a chance our defense was going to struggle. We needed to have a backup plan that consisted of tempo and 5 WR sets, but again we didn’t have any game experience trying to execute that type of offense.

When so many on this board talk about O$U having more focus on The Game than we do, I think this is what they are talking about. At least it’s what I’m talking about. I’m not talking about carving out 15 minutes of practice everyday to focus on O$U, I’m talking about employing these alternate schemes in real game action w/ the bullets flying.

Lastly, what good does it really do to just run our normal game plans on both sides of the ball when we KNOW we are superior and we are going to win easily. Now I’m not saying abandon what we do, but take a few series to work on different schemes on both sides of the ball so we have some experience.

Blowing teams out is fun, but I’m ready to play in Indy.
