I have not gone back and broken down the film. But my impression watching the game live on Saturday was that he was punishing people in the run game. Look at how far he moves his man in the long Higdon TD:
His man was slanting that direction to begin with, so maybe this particular play is a poor example since he basically drove him where he was already going. But there were many examples of him just driving his man backwards. I also thought Michigan ran behind him quite a bit on Saturday. Maybe the film will show otherwise, but that was my impression.
He's still a work in progress - his pass blocking obviously needs work. But he is showing the promise as a punishing run blocker that we all hoped and expected he would show.
