I have been emotionally attached to Jim Harbaugh since he came to Michigan. I was so fired up about his hire that I followed the staff around to as many of the summer camps as I could. I was at the camp where Jim shed his shirt and played with the kids. I was even interviewed by an ESPN writer while I was there. He was my dream hire and hearing stories about how competitive he was and how meritocracy was the bedrock of his coaching DNA made me even more fired up.

Fast forward six years.

Meritocracy is how I will look at the program from here on out. Has this staff earned the right to continue to coach after this season based strictly on performance? In my opinion, it's a no.

I don't think they are coaching with enthusiasm unknown to mankind and I don't think the team is playing with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

There appears to be no steel in the spine and we have nooobody that is stepping up to lead the team.

By Jim's own standards he is not getting the job done. I don't know what kind of accountability they talked about last week but somehow it's not translating to the field.

IU was the worst third-down team in the BIG going into our game. I doubt that's the case anymore. We had 18 yards rushing.
This program is failing on an epic level and we shouldn't continue down this path at the end of the season.

I know this mantra is being repeated over and over throughout the Fort but this is so surprising and frustrating to many of us that it's the only thing we can comment on at this point.

For me, one of the biggest shocks is from a segment of the fanbase that believes with a few more changes Jim can turn it around. What will it take for those fans to see the writing on the wall?
