When I was a student in the early 80's I was poor.
But I had a regular Saturday strategy. I went go to the Michigan Union at about 10:00am and I would sell my student ticket to some alumni or friend of an alumni who just needed one and they overpaid. Of course it did not matter where the seat was because no one sat in their own seat. Then I would take the money from that sale (because I had none) and I would buy another ticket...sometimes two. Then I would sell those and use the money to buy more tickets. After I flipped tickets about 3 times I had a ticket to the game and $25 beer and dogs later at Dooley's in my pocket. If I did really well I just skipped the boring game (like Navy or Rice) and headed straight over to Dooleys where my roommate and I drank ourselves stupid.
Ahhh those were the days!
StubHub has pretty much ruined that strategy
