The Peach Bowl is not the destination any of us wanted for Michigan this bowl season. It is hard to feel excited about another match-up with Florida in a non-playoff setting with star players deciding to sit out and preserve their draft stock. Add in all the negative fallout that has come with an embarrassing defeat to OSU, and it just makes you feel like drowning in your spirit of choice on a month long binge, until after December 29th! Or you could just bake and decorate Christmas cookies with your kids to take your mind off of things (don't judge me )! In the wake of the most recent rumors and happenings however, The Peach Bowl's importance has skyrocketed or more like has revealed itself!
Michigan needs to stop the bleeding from their wounds they took in Columbus! The negative recruiting, the mounting failures in the most meaningful of games, the comradery and culture of the team, the sky is falling faction of the fanbase, etc.. Winning cures all things! Beating Florida in Atlanta and hopefully in convincing fashion will see Michigan through to calmer waters instead of more stormy seas.
The off-season will be long and full of negativity regardless, but comparing and off-season with a Peach Bowl victory to one with a Peach Bowl loss, I'd rather not have to live through the misery a defeat in Atlanta would bring. Michigan MUST win! Lose and it spirals this thing into even worse directions.
