Not respond at all to what Herbstreit said. Thought provoking and I appreciate it. I’ll just say this last bit on the subject and be done.
1. The first part of my post regarding what Jim would have done a few years ago in response to Kirk’s rant versus doing nothing now really wasn’t me saying that I think he should indeed go off in a rant of tweets or outbursts, it was merely an illustration of how different he is now than he was then.
2. I still feel that Warde could make a simple, even generic statement on behalf of the program. Nothing pissy or directed at Herbstreit, but a statement that the University of Michigan takes the health and well being of its student-athletes very seriously. That we are in a pandemic and that nothing is more important than safety. That Michigan does not intentionally avoid athletic competitions based on projected outcomes, but also will not put their student athletes or those of other schools in danger. And that he, as a former Michigan Football player, understands the importance of The Game, respects it, and wants it to be played if prudent and safely possible. I would think the football team might appreciate a little support from Warde.
Again, I appreciate your responses to me and I do get the sentiment of feeling it’s best to not say a word. Have a great day! Go Blue!
