1. PG. If Smith is gone that leaves ZebJ. "Could" become a defensive strength but will he?
I expect entry passes to be easier but can he go to the hole? How will his handle be in traffic? We will need more than a 3pt shooter.
2. Who takes the 2 guard if Brooks is gone?? Can they shoot 3's? How will they handle defense?
3. Who's our Backup Center? Youth only??
4. With Livers gone and Franz likely gone, thats two top 3's that were great defensively and both good 3 pt shooters. Appears this is falling to youth again.
5. Overall meaning, youth will have to be served. Weve got a Center and a PF/4 in Johns. That appears to be the extent of known commodities
6. Plus losing Chaundee is a killer too.
Certainly not is all doom and gloom because of the outstanding recruiting class coming in. We wont be allowed to whine about our loss of players, and we shouldnt.
Yes, youth will have to be served, but its still youth. Growing pains will occur. By the end of next season & by tournament time, youth should have some seasoning.
Just spitballing here on next years rotation.
PG, Jackson, backup Frankie Collins. (Youth!!)
2G, Kobe Bufkin, backup (big unknown guess, transfer, ( youth again)
SF, C.Houstan, backup T.Williams, Jace Howard, Tschetter Youth again!
PF, B.Johns, backup M.Diabate, Tschetter Youth again with backups!
C, Dickinson, M.Diabate, Tschetter
My biggest concern in a quick look is the SG. Too much youth at the backcourt spots. Really could use a 2G transfer with experience to jell the troops front court to backcourt.
Also, next season see's alot of league big men gone to graduation. So, our smaller (in weight) backups might have some reprieve. With the league triple teaming Dickinson next year (which will be coming due to our youth) gotta have 3 point snipers and wing drivers to take that pressure off.
It gonna be interesting to see the development, but be patient.
