I have a cousin who currently lives in Ann Arbor, originally from Chicago. She was walking her dog through a neighborhood on Monday this week and was wearing a Michigan hat. A man in his front yard said hello to her and they began talking. He asked if she went to Michigan, and she said no, but that her aunt and uncle did (my parents). They kept talking and he asked what she does for work, she told him she is a teacher. Then she asked what he does, and he said “I used to be the head football coach at the university for a long time”.
I thought this was a funny story. Lloyd Carr acting like a normal guy and casually saying he used to be the head football coach like it was no big deal. On the other hand, it was probably refreshing to him that my cousin originally had no idea who he was and was talking to him like she would anyone else.
