I think you're right.Mike Hart was quoted as saying it was time to move on from the little brother stuff. He may feel it has over hyped the MSU coaches and players much to the detriment of the U of M program. May be time to stop poking the bear and not expecting to get mauled for it. Mike Hart's thoughts being paraphrased.
I could care less about comments 8 years ago, records do matter for a series, the last 8 years, the last 50 years, the last 100 years and not just whenever a rival self-defines meaningful games, and fyi, Bo did coach against Duffy several times...I think you're right.
To be honest with ya, most MSU fans barely think of that anymore. It's certainly not a rallying cry like it was in '08-'09. Michigan fans are the one's that keep bringing it up. Now it's Dantonio vs. Harbaugh. Cool. Bo never coached vs. Biggie or Duffy. This is first time in the rivalry's history that both programs are top notch with top notch coaches (I don't count Nick Saban as he took off just as he got the Spartans near, but not quite, to the top).
It is a snarky comment and it fits a UM narrative better than it does an MSU one. I would encourage UM fans to let it go. Just like the win-loss record. Most of UM's wins were collected 60-90 years ago. All the games were played in Ann Arbor. MSU was not a football school until the 50's. UM has the better record vs. MSU even since we joined the B1G. But it's not unbelievable.
UM is too high end of a university to have to keep returning to these old, hackneyed insults. Great game....as a Spartan I'll take the W, but no whooping. Hunched shoulders. Palms up. What can you say?

I've followed UM since the mid-70s, that's the time period that matters most to me and for most my life we've dominated MSU up until the last 8 years. It's swung to MSU, but I'm anticipating this series will be close for the coming years w Harbaugh vs. Dantonio. Should be a blast, I'd rather have great, competitive games, with UM on top at the end of course.Oh my....you're right. Duffy left in '72. I should know better. That was my freshman year. Well, if records over 100 yrs. count, I guess you're Yale's little brother..... Just kidding.

Records include ALL the years, not just what you want to pick and choose.Oh my....you're right. Duffy left in '72. I should know better. That was my freshman year. Well, if records over 100 yrs. count, I guess you're Yale's little brother..... Just kidding.
