I have had a few (former clients) who called/emailed back about re-doing business? Why you ask? Because I am direct and straightforward with people. Gotten recent referrals. People may not like what the answer will be and they may not be happy but they will RESPECT you and TRUST you.
See the point I am making. In business or recruiting...when you are direct with people and you communicate the problem or resolution they will not always be happy. They will throw a temper tantrum or this or that but they will respect you at the core.
Tell me about your business? Do you think it's good business to be direct and forthright in both the short and long term? I bet you do.
I think most of you know Reality Man on this board. Let me make his point.
Most of you don't like him. He is too opinionated or this or that. You can't stand him or his opinions but I think on some level you do respect him because he tends to be transparent. You may not ever want to meet him or see or hear from him but deep down inside you do understand where he is coming from. As one former associate said about him...he doesn't have a pretentious bone in his body.
I like Harbaugh. I think he is REAL. He is quirky and unconventional. As the one ESPN writer intimated...he exudes complete transparency to his players. They always know where they stand. Well...his recruits and offers should expect the same thing.
