Honestly, What can Jim do to fix this?
I think Jim needs to Blow the entire thing up and look at this like he is just taking over a new job at UM.
1. Fire the entire Defensive staff and go get a guy ( matt Patricia maybe) who does what you want.... not a guy who needs to recruit connecticut for his 'Dudes" . Jim wants to play B1G D.... not small fast we attack blah blah blah crap. who does that work for ?show me one team in College football that does nothing but aggressive man.
2. Either realize that College football changed and give Gattis the keys OR be who you want and go find the guy that vcan run NU /Iowa/Wisconsin type Offense ,which I believe is what he wants. Absolutely have to stop living in to worlds JIM!!
3. Change the culture, you are now a new coach. Walk into locker room and announce the new team and let everyone know nothing is promised, nothing is accepted but everything for your team. If that isn't acceptable, I willsign off on any transfer. Fumble,you wont see the field for a minute ( obvious exceptions) drop two passes in a row nope you're done, throw the ball to the other team/miss wide open guys etc,done....miss tackles,done, get beat repeatedly done, .What you do in the game matters wayyyyyy more than practice!! Then go out and recruit the kids you want with the right attitude.
If he can lay out a plan like that I think he can get it done. Question is can he?
