Let me ask this board a question...

What was a big common denominator of the Iowa and OSU losses and let's even include the MSU win?

Answer: All 3 teams ran the ball well in the 4th quarter relative to the UM in the same period of time. Remember Wadley? Barrett as the designated runner. Scott.

Not trying to rub salt in the wound but I think 'some' UM fans need to get past the screw factor and to the real cause of the losses. UM exceeded expectations at the qb position. Speight was pretty dang good. Could have been better late but not too bad. Defense was more than fine and in fact great.

It was the OL/run game that still didn't even meet expectations against better competition. Just look at our games against Colorado and MSU. It was the passing game that won it with the defense. Can you name where the running game won it for UM recently? UM was passing their way to victory in most of these games until they flipped the script late. (No pun OSU).

One last question. Do you really want UM to make the playoffs and play Alabama? Be honest. NO b.s. I am starting to think beating a good team in the Orange Bowl rather than losing to Alabama is the better option.

UM has now had back to back 10 win seasons. Things are trending upwards. Let's focus on getting some big uglies on the OL and some rb's and get past this UM loss and OSU win. The season has been successful. Learn the lessons. UM is focusing on piss and vinegar and our enemies want to focus on Harbaugh complaining.

I have a question, since you're willing to try and extract the officiating from the game on Saturday as a factor.

Should very-public, lifelong fans of a home team be allowed to officiate games?

Go BLUE. Always.

Yes, yes. We get the fact that our OL/rb game wasn't up to par and factored into not pulling out the win. But that still doesn't negate the point that Blue Note said. How can a contest be fair with an officiating crew like that? Fact is, they affected the outcome of the game.

The refs had their thumbs on the scale in the OSU game but sometimes refs blow it Did you see that FSU vs. Clemson game. Hatchet call where Fisher was clearly upset.

UM could have finished the game even with the poor refs. Could have stopped Samuel. If you want to claim the officiating influenced the game then we agree but I see other variables as the bigger culprits in the loss.

I'm pissed about the officiating and I was disheartened that we couldn't overcome that to close at the game on offense or defense. We were damn close, but that only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

Absolutely I want Bama, I want us to learn to compete and fight against the very best. They're not invincible and we could well match a smash mouth team. I'd love to see us rise to the test.

Why wouldn't you want Alabama? It's not like you guys have been blown out in your two losses or completely outclassed. Michigan can beat anyone in the country this year. They don't need to be a better overall team than Alabama, they just have to be better for 60 minutes. A perfect example is the game versus my Hawkeyes. I'm well aware that if we played 10 times, Michigan wins 8, probably 9, times.

You have the defense to slow Alabama down and I think you can get enough offense and returns from Peppers to give you a shot at the end. How freakin awesome would it be to have a rematch against OSU in the title game? Personally, I think if one team has a shot against Alabama, it's probably Michigan because of that defense.
