Consider these possibilities come the trip to Columbshit...
• our young Oline has jelled. We give up very few TFL’s and our deep stable of backs avg well over 4 YPC.
• Hayes and Mayfield prove to be adapt at pass pro
• Milton can hit 60% of slants and quick stuff
• we have some cats who get open deep (CuJo, Roman?)
what would happen to the Bucks if we went old school and chewed clock with a punishing ground game, accompanied with underneath stuff and then a few deep lasers a la Streets in 97 RB? If I’m Harbaugh - I’m thinking body shots vs them. Weaken them and run the f&@:$: ball and keep that AAU offense of theirs off the field. jab with quick stuff to keep them off balance and from flooding the box and then hit them with the knockout - a deep JM bomb for a TD. Our offense has to stay on the field. We need dudes up front who...
- can man up and drive people on run calls
- athletic enough for quick pass calls and the occasional deep ball
- guys who maybe want it a little more than dudes looking for the 1sr open door to the pros.
it can work. I’m not saying I’m reading JH’s mind ha but it seems to me he’s building a blue collar team with a tough ass attitude (and just enough special athletes) and a team first persona that can do damage against a semi pro team like OSU.we just need a good QB who can threaten them with the keeper and the long ball and an OL who can win a TOP game by grinding it out on the ground and forcing their safeties down into the box.
