Can't believe Bob Stoops stepping down is getting more coverage than me! All jokes aside I have spent the last 11 years as a coach in NCAA athletics and officially hung up the whistle. I have so much respect for the men and their families that can make a college coaching career work and I am beyond amazed by JH. The time away from the wife and kids is brutal. Every weekend your either playing your own games or traveling to watch recruits play theirs. Not to mention the day to day tasks. Last year I hit the 40 out of 52 weekends on the road and with two kids that was unbearable. I have no idea how Jimmy and staff do it ($ can't hurt but it's still an emotional toll). Going to miss so much of being out on the field with a squad and working towards a common goal and competing like crazy. Fortunately my new career path will free up the weekends and I can bring my daughter and son to their first games in Ann Arbor this fall!
