Continuing our series of uncommitted player updates, we'll take a look at local product, Detroit Martin Luther King cornerback Lavert Hill.
Hill was a long-time Penn State commit and even though he puts the Nittany Lions in his top three, this is a Blue vs. Green battle. He took his official visit to Michigan State a couple weeks ago but stopped by Michigan on his way home. That sort of thing usually doesn't happen and is definitely a good sign for the Maize and Blue.
Hill was also at U-M again over this past weekend and is really enjoying the time spent with the players and coaches.
One thing that is also helping Michigan a lot with Hill is the influence of his older brother and current Wolverine safety, Delano. Earlier in the process, Lavert would regularly say that Delano wasn't pressuring him and was telling him to do what's best for himself. Lately, that tune has changed.
Lavert has mentioned in the last few interviews he's done that Delano is now encouraging him to come to Michigan. The younger Hill has even said something along the lines of, we've never actually been able to play together and at Michigan we would.
Michigan should feel confident but Michigan State is certainly still in play. The Spartans are really trying to sell the message to in-state kids that East Lansing is the place to be and looking at the matchup lately, they're right. Hill's teammate and good friend Donnie Corley is already enrolled at MSU and is pulling hard to Hill to join him.
This one is close, but we like Michigan here.
