I am certainly not an expert but I do remember that Comparoni (I know what the hell was I doing reading him last year) made a point about OSU's blocking scheme CHANGE that allowed OSU to run for like 400 yards on Sparty and win by 40 points.
It wasn't that OSU just had this Oline that was made up of All Americans (although they were better last year than this year). The OSU coaches put in a "tweak" of some kind according to Comparoni after watching the tape (I certainly can not describe what it was) that really caught MSU by surprise and because of it OSU was always getting to the second level and getting a block on Bachie. It had something to do with the direction or way the center and guard were taking there first step or taking wider gaps in addition to this first step and it had not been done before that game by the OSU offensive line.
Maybe someone here remembers this and can comment. All I know is that MSU had like a top 5 running defense going into the OSU game and OSU ran for over 400 yards (and no it was not just that Dobbins and Weber are excellent runners).
Bottom line we have the coaches in Warriner and Harbaugh that hopefully can learn from what OSU did last year and apply it or a variation this year.
