Minnesota 1-0-1

The Golden Gophers put a 7-1 thrashing on Trinity Western in an exhibition game. Had to look up the fact that Trinity Western is a private university in Langley, British Columbia.

Junior forward Cam Morrison contributed a goal and an assist in the Irish 4-1 Friday night win over Omaha. Saturday’s 8-2 Notre Dame win over Omaha was fueled by two goals and two assists by junior forward Cal Burke.

Ohio State 3-1-0

#1 Ohio State suffered a home upset loss to UMass, 6-2 on Friday night. Junior forward Carson Meyer scored a pair of goals in a losing cause for the Buckeyes. Ohio State got a measure of revenge Saturday with a bounce-back 3-1 win over UMass paced by two goals by top junior forward Tanner Laczynski.

Penn State 4-0-0

#10 Penn State boosted their unbeaten season streak to four games with a pair of home wins against Niagara – 8-2 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday. Senior forward Ludvig Larsson paced the Nittany Lion attack with two goals on Friday. Junior netminder Peyton Jones stopped 35 of 36 Niagara shots on Saturday.

Wisconsin 3-1-0

The #15 Badgers split a pair of games on an eastern road swing through the Northeast. Diminutive, but highly skilled, freshman forward Sean Dhooghe scored both Badger goals in the Friday 4-2 loss to Clarkson. Dhooge continued his eastern rampage with another pair of scores in Wisconsin’s 7-1 shellacking of St. Lawrence on Saturday.
