I see the '62' points being run over and over against the D...it was not a good showing for our D but there was a pick 6, blocked punt, and the eventual opening of the gates after offensive failures (lack of key catches, stalled drives, etc.)
Depth...their bench was better than ours. Their extra WRs were better than our extra DBs. Their RBs were more dynamic than ours...plain and simple think this will get better.
Leadership, what 4/5 seniors played well...??? An integral missing piece.
It's been a VERY rough 15 years vs OSU...we've been down the causal factors...
-No succession for Lloyd (lack of viable candidates on the staff, Bill Martin's lack of planning, etc.)
-RRod didn't workout...I tought he was a terrific hire as the hot coach, wrong...
-Hoke...this really bothered me as JH in 2011 could have righted the ship sooner...Brandon and JH's ego could not have co-existed. I've always thought when someone needs to ask who the AD is...that's a good thing.
-And Hoke was way in over his head...RRod at least got another HC job with mild success before we all found out about his morals. What is Hoke doing now...positional coach, being a DC with Oregon didn't work out and he hasn't had a sniff for a HC since, just fact. He didn't develop a QB and it showed. He left some nice players, not great players.
-I think many underestimated how down the program was...lost to Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesota...helmet gate, etc. It wasn't just players that needed to change but attitude and work ethic.
-I'm confident in JH...as many have said #7 in wins during his time...impressive. I believe he will make necessary changes...he saw the team needed to get stronger last seasonand he let Tolbert go who had been with him at Stanford, 49ers, and UM...I'm sure it wasn't easy but necessary.
-Recruiting is going well this year. I like the SUCCESSFUL reach into GA and FL.
-While this doesn't resonate with many college coaches and fans (only W/Ls), JH has (IMO) handled disciplinary actions very well. He's not covering up for coaches, letting kids who screw up go undisciplined (again MO).
-I enjoyed this season aside from the ND/OSU games, there was a whole lotta good. JH continues to recruit quality coaches, if there is a need for change, I'm confident he will make it.
