USC is pushing hard to get Kurt Taylor on their campus for an unofficial visit this summer for their Rising Stars camp. The Michigan commit is one of three running backs (plus fullback Chase Lasater) committed at this time, and U-M hasn't stopped recruiting others at the position quite yet, either.
Our USC sources, Michigan sources, and Taylor sources are all over the place on how this one plays out. USC is trying hard to flip him and thinks that's possible because Dad is higher on U-M than Kurt himself is (which may have a grain of truth, but USC's reason for thinking it - that Dad went to to Michigan - is wrong, so it's not as powerful as they think).
Michigan and Taylor are both fine with remaining in their current status - committed - but if you ask our The Wolverine staff, Michigan wouldn't be hurt (other than a PR hit) as long as they have other backs on the line - which they do. The U-M staff might be a little more guarded about how they phrase that sentiment, at the very least.
For his part, Taylor visits a TON of other schools, and we don't even bother to report it because we're confident that he says he's solid (and the UABs of the world aren't the ones to change that). This one could - not necessarily will - develop into something else in due time, though.
