one said the weather was worse than what you could see on t.v. I don't think it was bad enough not to throw 10-20 yards down field.

Now to the real interesting opinion. He/She said that maybe Meyer was keeping the game plan simple for the game against UM. Hmmm.

Thought he could bring out the vanilla plays at home and surprise UM. Not saying I buy that 'theory' completely.

OSU is going to start winging out down field next week but that mindset of saving the playbook for UM on the road might have some validity. Let's be honest...teams do that and OSU got surprised when the game was so close going deep in the 2nd half. MSU deserves all the credit but OSU might have underestimated their opponent.

Crazy. I would think you would bring the whole playbook against MSU even at home. I think OSU was truly surprised at how good MSU actually is even though they squeaked by UM and lost at Nebraska.

Meyer is creative enough after all these years of coaching I am sure he could have come up with more plays for U of M. He has been around long enough to know you beat the team in front of you first and then worry about the next one. The wind was so bad in that game that you could not get the ball down field with any zip.

That makes sense. I wasn't there although I saw the one long ball throw that almost got intercepted. I do think OSU could have thrown the ball 10-20 yards (intermediate passes). But you are right...the weather may have been the MVP.

I think you will agree that the play calling could have been more diverse but it wasn't. Credit to MSU for dealing with the conditions but if I am completely honest...the coaching staff was a significant part of this loss. Reminds me of the Rose Bowl where UM was a solid team and just played so conservative in the first half against USC and lost the game.

It was a poorly coached game by OSU. Not the first time a coach has done a poor job but not the expectation from an Urban Meyer coached team. Maybe the new Minny coach. Maybe Franklin. Definitely Hoke but not Meyer. I can see a play here or there but the significant parts of the game were head scratching. Too much deference to the coordinators?

OSU is going to watch the film and be sick to their stomach when they see how one dimensional they were on both sides of the ball.
