People need to chill. The fact is that the 2017 version of the Wolverines is VERY young. Most of the talent is in the 2016 and 2017 classes. The fifth, fourth and third year classes are very small and have far less talent. Plus they were not part of Harbaugh's first full recruiting cycle, which was the 2016 class (current sophs). Sure the youngsters are talented but they need to crawl before they walk and walk before they run. On defense the youngsters seem to have come out running, so appreciate that unexpected huge early positive and have some patience with the offense as it still crawls. This team is not about to go 12-0 in the regular season unless the offense all of a sudden springs to life and starts running. Lets first hope they can walk. If so, 10-2 seems reasonable and anything better would be gravy. The way the offense is playing each and every game on our schedule, except Rutgers, could be a loss. Purdue, Indiana, Maryland, MSU and Minnesota are all playing at a level where we could be beaten if we make too many mistakes. On the other hand, our defense gives us a chance against anybody. My guess is we lose to Penn State, beat Ohio State and lose to one other Big Ten team. Given the youth of our team, that would be a very good season and a springboard to launching the program to the nationally elite level in 2018 as Harbaugh's recruits mature into upperclassmen. So we can hope for the best but be prepared for some speed bumps this year. For the long term, though, get ready to put on your shades because that very bright future that we have been anticipating since December 2014 is just around the corner. Patience, my friends, just a touch more patience.
