Are they really that bad, skills wise? MSU played some good defense, and Watts's runner game is strong, but Duke dribbled off their feet more and airball'd more barely-or-un-contested 3s than I've ever seen from a D-1 team. The Duke guards were flat awful, and a couple times I thought to myself "is that kid shaving points?" (no, I don't think that was going on... just unforced terrible turnovers or missed bunnies)
Anyway, MSU looks like a completely different team with Watts in place of Loyer, and I don't understand why Marble doesn't see more time on the court. It's not nearly as good as "beat down a top-10 team on road", or even as good as most recent MSU squads, but they sure do play hard and do have some pieces.
