I was half expecting to hear the contract extension to be done last week. If there is no announcement this week I suspect one of two things is going on:
1) Harbaugh would like to see how the season plays out and may want to pursue NFL opportunities
2) Stapleton is implying harsh NCAA penalties should a new contract is signed (prior to the NCAA issues being resolved).
There has been total silence on the NCAA infractions (perhaps a good sign that they are negotiating).
Can you/did you ask 1) if this is being held up by Harbaugh wanting to see how the season plays out or 2) if the Stapleton interference is related to NCAA concerns. (And can you share the answer
