Has there ever been a dude who's story is more taylor-made for a movie? After hearing about his latest relapse, it reminded me of this premise. I've been thinking this for years, but the guy just continues to add chapters to his heroic/tragic/inspiring/depressing story.
Of course there's all the problems he's had with substance abuse, being part of that horrible tragedy where the man died reacing for a ball he tossed into the stands, etc.
And there's the highs of the HR derby in NY that really trumpeted his arrival as a MLB star, his 2010 MVP season, the incredible 2011 WS loss to the cardinals.
This guy's had more ups and downs than a helicoptor. His story makes Darryl Strawberry look like Ken Griffey Jr. I'm pulling for a happy ending, but at this point, nothing would surprise me.
