I know, another thread on this topic, but sitting here reading the board and thinking about what I watched yesterday.
The question I am trying to answer, who gives us the better chance to win or go as far as possible, this year?
My feeling is, Speight may have the higher floor, as in, under normal circumstances, maybe he makes fewer mistakes. Now, that's maybe not as much the case this year, but against inferior comp, he may be the safer option.
What seems completely apparent, JOK probably has the higher ceiling. The ball comes out of his hand so much more efficiently. His decisions were quick. His ability to scramble significantly better. The happy feet, the gunslinger mentality the two real concerns.
I would like to see what a confident JOK could do this year and am willing to live with that. I don't believe for a moment this team is championship caliber with Speight at the helm. I don't yet know the answer on JOK, but it isn't certain it is no like it seems to be with Speight.
If JH and team are willing to open things up, it just may benefit guys like Evans and even the young receivers, as well as fit JOK a bit better. Maybe there are some pains in the process, but I think at this point I can accept that.
This should be a lot of fun to watch play out. I hope Wilton is healthy, as we will likely need him in some capacity this year, but here's to hoping JOK creates a legacy that surprises everyone.
