Holding the ball with five minutes to play up 10 is nearly impossible to lose in the NFL, but possible in college. You don't win college games by killing clock. You win by getting first downs. We saw no attempt once the team got up by 10.

There was part of me that wanted Indiana to get the ball on the onside kick. I knew what was coming for Michigan. 3 runs and leave Indiana a minute to play to drive 50 yards for a field goal. That is not easy in the NFL with a constant running clock. In college, not so tough especially when the offense has four downs to play with rather than 3 the whole game. It's cute when a defense stops a team in 4th and 2 in the first quarter. That gets thrown out the book when it comes to desparation. If Indiana got the ball on the kick at least I likely knew Michigan was getting it back with time remaining.
