Brohm said he was constantly in discussions during that period with those closest to him. At times tempers flared and things got heated. He said ultimately it came down to a feeling in his gut that he couldn't turn his back on his current players at Purdue and the recruits they have coming to their program.

So does a head coach talk to his assistants about a new gig? Wife not happy? Do you yell at your current boss?
