The overwhelming sentiment on the board is clearly that Drevno is the problem (@Jim__S's poll had him at 80% last I saw). (Distant) Second seems to be Jay Harbaugh, particularly questioning his competence/qualifications as a rb coach.
I get it, TEs did well last year, but that was jake butt and for a while, the natural talent of asiasi. Furthermore, we had serviceable WRs that helped open up the field a bit. So was Jay really that good?
Honest question and in no way asking in a pejorative sense... If you are a 4-5 star rb, why do you trust your future (to a certain extent) with a coach who has never played the position? Seems like a very easy target for negative recruiting... "he's never played rb, he's the coach's son..." yes, I am fully aware that not every position coach has played at the same position before, just curious how this affects our crootin at this incredibly important position.
I know there are many on this board who will say "it's not that big of a deal" that Jay is the rb coach, ball players know how to coach... but, if that's true, why were so excited to have a guy like ty Wheatley when it's a job "anyone could do?"
If I'm not mistaken, Jay seems to be a darn good recruiter, so my question may be moot to some.
No chance JH fires his son is my guess and I'm in no way advocating that. Wish we would have kept Fred Jackson (and his son lol)
