does anyone know ---- is he actually going to GET a graduate degree from Michigan?

JH talked a whole lot about Michigan academics back in 2007. I thought he was right back in 2007. But, I'm also interested to see if he's going to "walk the walk" in this regard 8 years later.

It would be QUITE disappointing (and if one's willing to be honest, eye-opening) if (1) JH's interest in Rudock getting a U-M degree is less than (2) JH's interest in Rudock as a 1-year, stop-gap, make me look better in my first year as HC QB.

Everything you read about Jake I say he will be getting his degree. Bet the farm on it

I'd say it's more on Jake than JH, but based on all I've heard there is zero basis for your "concerns".

Cool, good. I'll take your word for it.

I've posted here for a number of years, I'm sure you've seen that. Michigan's my 2nd favorite B1G team and I've been a big JH fan for much of the last 10 years. Especially in 2007 when many U-M fans (who have since developed amnesia about the past, of course) were shamefully treating JH like the 2nd coming of Satan.

Point being --- your posting of the PSU-Michigan football score is completely irrelevant to my question. And that question IS 100% legitimate given JH's track record of talking about academics and Michigan football.

You know that.

The question is not 100% legit; it is a BS question. I think it is safe to say regardless of whether or not Rudock gets his degree, he has benefited from transferring to Michigan. Whatever happens to Jake (gets a degree, doesn't get a degree, goes to the NFL etc... ) is not a reflection on JH and his commitment to academics. Not sure how one could even jump to that conclusion let alone be QUITE disappointing and eye opening. And throwing up a red herring to a troll question is legitimate.

Exactly. If he can't handle it then go back to the psu board. Funny to bring up ONE specific instance to try and make a point. Sorry, 28-16. These are facts. Deal with them and face the reality of having Franklin as your coach in a division with Harbaugh, Urban and Dantonio.

Satan, huh? That's a bit hyperbolic, don't you think?

I don't think anybody has amnesia about Harbaugh's remarks when he was at Stanford. That was eight year ago, though, and he has since apologized. I think most Michigan fans have forgiven him and moved on. There's no point in holding a grudge.

The funny think is that michnitt doesn't like Franklin and thinks he's in over his head.

He likes to harp on the academics thing, though. I'm not sure why. Harbaugh has stressed academics since coming to Michigan, and he hired John Baxter, who is ultra serious about players getting their degrees and has developed his own program to that end.

Is their counter evidence to suggest Harbaugh really doesn't care about academics? If so, I haven't seen it.

And as pointed out, getting his degree is up to Rudock. He has the opportunity.

Some people just can't seem to avoid making snarky comments. And coming from the school of branch campuses where the big deal seems to be making it to "Main Campus", I just have to consider the source. Does the original poster want to compare academic reputations with the UM ?

Jake Rudock is working on his masters in Kinesiology with an eye on attending medical school and becoming pediatric specialist. I am sure he will finish his degree and go on from there unless he lights it up against Florida and gets an NFL offer. Even then I believe he would eventually return to school and pursue a career.
