My good news is, Lucifer has retired and I say GOOD RIDDANCE! That guy is the epitome of everything bad about the coaching profession. His slash and burn methods of coaching always seem to show up after the damage is done. Whether it's taking a program to like Florida and filling it with thugs or supporting and providing cover for scumbag coaches, Urban has been a standard bearer for unethical and immoral coaching practices. I do not buy into the idea that somehow Jim Harbaugh is less of a coach because he never beat this jerk. I wouldn't trade Jim Harbaugh for Urban and his coaching tactics for all the tea in China.
The basketball team had the kind of game they needed to have last night and survived. This team looks like it could be special and last night was it's first real test and, it passed.
My biological dad lives in Grand Blanc, MI and he has been a swing dance teacher and competitor his entire life. Last week at the age of 83 he was the oldest competitor to ever compete in the world championships In Las Angeles. He and his partner were in the masters division that starts at age 50. So essentially he was competing against people 20 to 30 years younger than him. I think the next oldest competitor was in their late 60's. Anyway, they made the finals and ended up 5th overall. I'm pretty proud of the old dude and I hope I have his energy if I make it to his age.
My Step dad lives five minutes from me and he tuned 84 this week and he's also in great health. He's a fantastic guy and I've been so blessed to have both those guys in my life.
Slowly Christmas is starting to come into focus and I hope to have all my shopping done by this time next week.
Work is good. Church is good. Family is good.
