Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has been the headliner in articles around the country, most assuming U-M would be making a change at the top. At this point, that's not the case. Harbaugh is operating as though he will be here next year and that the extension (three years) is done, and so is everyone else.

If A.D. Warde Manuel is going to make a change, it's the most covert op and series of head fakes we've ever seen.

The Harbaugh extension talk is one of the factors that has really helped keep the recruiting class together. As noted in other posts, Harbaugh is "betting on himself" to turn it around and — while some have said he's been operating more as a CEO than he ever has (and based on what we've heard, that's not debatable) — he's "more motivated than ever."

We'll see. But we do expect significant staff changes on both sides of the ball. Several kids on the team are waiting for the official announcement before deciding what they do (one or two handfuls).

There's talk that the extension will be announced early next week.

Watch for more on this and other developments in the days to come.
