Everett (Mass.) High three-star athlete Mike Sainristil finally decommitted from Virginia Tech last night.
The No. 63 athlete in the country took an official visit to Michigan earlier this year and reportedly left thinking he'd be flipping to the Wolverines. The speedy athlete didn't have an exact time frame in mind but was pretty sure it would be sooner rather than later. Several months obviously went by and nothing happened but last night the first domino seems to have fallen with him backing off of his pledge to the Hokies.
In tweets leading up to and after his decommitment, the 5-9, 175-pounder was going back and forth with Michigan commit and friend Giles Jackson and also retweeted several U-M football related tweets. Sainristil is tentatively expected to be in Ann Arbor on Nov. 3 for Michigan's game against Penn State and he should be watched very closely that weekend.
Stay tuned for more on Sainristil in the coming weeks.
